Sometimes people are little skeptical of "healthy" versions of favorite treats. I recommend these and hope your family will love them too.
Base layer:
1 cup flour (could substitute 1 cup almond flour plus 1 Tbsp coconut flour)
¼ cup Shaklee Life Shake protein powder – vanilla flavor
3 Tbsp maple syrup
2 ½ Tbsp coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch sea salt
Filling layer:
½ cup peanut butter (or nut butter of choice)
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup coconut oil – melted
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of sea salt
Topping:
1 1/3 cup chocolate chips
1 tsp coconut oil
Preheat oven to 350. Spray 9x9 baking pan. (or could use mini muffin cups)
Mix base ingredients and pat into pan. Bake 10 minutes until edges begin to brown. Cool completely.
Mix filling ingredients and spread on top of the base layer.
Score (cut part way through) the bars at this time to create the shape of a Twix candy bar. (about ¾ inch wide x 4 ½ inch long)
Melt the chocolate and oil together until smooth and spread on the top of the filling.
Freeze for about 2 hours, then complete cutting them into Twix shaped bars and enjoy.
Store in refrigerator (if there are any extras!! 😊)
