Healthy Sleep is essential to your overall health at every age, but there are plenty of people who aren’t getting enough rest to keep their body and mind running at optimal levels.
Tips for sleeping well:
· Light exposure is important. Keep your days bright and your nights dark. If you need room darkening window treatments, they are a worthwhile investment. Our son Matthew, who was convinced he wanted to grow as tall as possible, used to put a towel by the crack under the door just to eliminate any light that might sneak in from the office 😊
· Bedtime routines – determine a schedule that allows you to get 8 hours of sleep. (kiddos need even more) Be consistent – going to bed at the same time each night is very beneficial. Calm music, a warm bath, and pleasure reading (avoid stressful books) can all be helpful.
· Avoid food and caffeine in the evening.
· Shut down and unhook. Stop working and turn off electronics 1 hour before bedtime. Avoid keeping your cell phone in your bedroom at night. Read print books rather than electronic books at night.
· Make your bedroom a sanctuary. Invest in the best sheets and pillows and bedding you can afford. Make your bed each morning so it is pleasant to return to at night. A room that is dark and cool promotes the best sleep. No television or electronic devices. (Did I say that before?)
· Supplements to support sleep. If you’re struggling with sleep issues, then our sleep supplements can help. Shaklee sleep supplements provide scientifically backed way to help you fall asleep and sleep throughout the night so you wake up feeling refreshed.
